1:1 Somatic Coaching

for post traumatic growth

Expand your capacity for embodied presence.

Transform lifelong patterns of trauma & dysregulation.

Heal emotional pain & nurture your relationships.

If you are looking for a somatic, trauma-informed practitioner to help you transform long-held patterns of stress and trauma so that you can experience more peace, capacity & possibility, you are in the right place.

Hi I’m Kelsey Maeve, TCTSY-F, RYT-200, somatic trauma resolution coach, educator & embodiment facilitator, and I’m so glad you are here.

I love supporting folks to attune to their potential for health through simple, do-able, body-based practices. After guiding people towards greater emotional, physical and mental wellness through embodied healing modalities for 14 years, I believe that somatic coaching is one of the most effective, simple & fun ways to heal from stress & trauma.

This work has absolutely transformed me as a person, and I consider coaching a way to pay it forward, as I continue on the path of embodied healing. I look forward to connecting with you about how we can work together.

Big love,

Kelsey

How do I know if Somatic Coaching is right for me?

If you can relate to several of the statements below, somatic coaching could be a great fit for you!

  • I am committed to personal growth and am ready to experience significant healing

  • I am excited about an approach that is somatic (aka body-based) and grounded in evidence based practices of Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga and Somatic Experiencing

  • I want to be held in a container that is both grounded in clinical trauma healing modalities and can hold the more spiritual & creative sides of me too

  • I am seeking an ongoing therapeutic container to hold me through a major loss, transition or growth phase

  • I am successful in many areas of life, but subconscious emotional patterns continue to hold me back from the levels of fulfillment that I know are possible in my work, health and relationships

  • I am ready to alchemize outgrown parts of my identity and to embody a new way of being

  • I yearn for attuned, somatic guidance from someone who has been in the field of somatics for over a decade

I support my clients to…

  • Grow empowered, embodied badass boundaries that transform their relationships

  • Transform shame into shameless self expression

  • Cultivate the courage to share their hearts true medicine

  • Heal from interpersonal violations in their recent or early-life that still impact their relationships

  • Expand their ability to give and receive safe enough nurturance, love & care

  • Grow resilience around medical trauma, illness or chronic pain

  • Renegotiate painful experiences from the past to make space for new possibilities in the present

  • Un-learn co-dependant people-pleasing tendencies & take up right sized space in their own lives

  • Listen to their intuition and learn to distinguish it from the voice of trauma, fear or anxiety

  • Grieve what has been lost, and be with the pain of longing, loss and betrayal

  • Learn how to regulate their nervous systems in times of stress & trauma

  • Feel more embodied presence and capacity in their bodies

  • Love themselves fully and wholly for all of who they are (including the trauma)

… and much more!

If you are curious about whether somatic coaching could be a good fit for you, book a 30-minute consultation call to speak with Kelsey and feel it out. You will be invited to share about your life & what brings you to coaching right now & will have time to ask your questions.

 The Process

Ongoing somatic, therapeutic, transformational support

Trauma heals best when it is met with consistency and care in a field of presence where trust has time to grow. I tend to work with people for 6 months at minimum. Many choose to extend for longer, and some continue the sessions over the course of many years, however 6 months is a wonderful time frame to begin with and to see some real transformative change.

Here is the flow of events that you can expect when you sign up for somatic coaching.

01

Feeler Call :

I care deeply that you get the best-fit care for where you are in your life, right now. I also care deeply that the people who sign up for this program are right-fit clients for me. That’s why we start with a low-pressure 30-minute feeler call. You’ll be invited to share what interests you about somatic coaching and to ask all the questions you have.

02

Enrollment :

If it feels like a good match for both of us, I will send you a contract to review. You can decide on your monthly payment plan based on the number of sessions you want per month, and enroll in a plan that works for you. Once the logistics are complete, you can begin scheduling your sessions. Everything is automated for ease & convenience.

03

Intake Session :

This process is the foundation upon which your unique journey will be held in this powerful container. Prior to the call you will be invited to answer questions about your your current hopes, dreams and goals as well as roadblocks, traumas and challenges. Our intake session will be an opportunity for you to share your story (as much as you’d like) and what’s most important in your life right now. This will help us identify your nervous system patterns & what needs to shift.

04

Blueprint Session:

During the Program Blueprint session, we will co-create your unique program blueprint - a document that will serve as a magical map to guide our work together. The program will outline the specific developmental muscles that would be in service to you shifting and growing into a new way of being–a way that can experience resilience and greater capacity in the face of challenge and difficulty. We revisit the Blueprint as a north star or guiding light throughout your program to celebrate your progress, wins and milestones.

05

Ongoing Sessions :

We will continue to meet for 75-minute sessions in which we will work in a titrated, do-able way to cultivate embodied connections, habits and practices that support you to fundamentally shift your physiology away from emergency and towards increased resource and ease. These calls may include embodied movement practice, creative explorations and somatic trauma resolution. You can choose to meet weekly or biweekly. Each session is collaborative, consensual and unique to you!

06

Celebration Session :

At some point, you may feel like your work is complete. By the end of working together, folks typically reach outcomes that felt impossible at the beginning . Dedicated practice, paired with accountability and attuned 1-1 connection predictably create miracles. On our final call, we will review your developmental objectives from your Blueprint document, celebrate your wins and co-create a beautiful closing ritual to complete the container. It’s time for you to rejoice in your new way of being!

“Through our 1-1 sessions, I learned to honor the true needs of my body and soul. I learned to expand into feeling my capacity, freedom, heart, and clarity in an embodied way.”

Lineages of Practice

I am so grateful for my teachers & the wisdom traditions that have shaped me as a somatic practitioner. The main methodologies that inform my coaching work with clients are Somatic Experiencing + ReBloom Coaching, however, I am shaped by everything I have studied & practice, and would like to honor & acknowledge my teachers & lineages that animate my work.

Professional Certifications:

  • Certified ReBloom Coach (2020) - I completed the 14-month training in the ReBloom Method for Personal & Collective Post Traumatic Growth with Racheal Maddox twice, and became a member of the ReBloom “hive” aka teaching team where I served as a guest teacher & supervisor in the advanced training program for coaches.

  • Somatic Experiencing Student (2019) - I have been a client of Somatic Experiencing for over 30 years (!!!) and this body based trauma healing method, developed by Peter Levine, has become a deeply engrained part of who I am. I am currently in training at the advanced level & will complete the 3-year certification process in 2023.

  • Graduate studies in Depth Psychology (2016) - I completed one year of graduate studies in Depth Psychology (a branch of psychology developed by Carl Jung) at Sonoma State University where I received education on dreamwork, archetypes, movement, art & other creative approaches to psychology, sand tray, MBTI, and mythology.

  • Certified Expressive Arts Facilitator (2014) - After painting with my godmother Chris Zydel for many years in her expressive arts studio, I completed the yearlong training to become a facilitator in this art therapy method, centered around the process of intuitive painting. It’s so fun!

  • Certified Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator (2014) - I was part of the second cohort to study TCTSY- an evidence based modality - with Dave Emerson & Jenn Turner at Bessel van der Kolk’s Trauma Center, becoming the first TCTSY instructor in California in 2014. TCTSY is now being offered through the Center for Trauma & Embodiment.

  • RYT-200 (Registered Yoga Teacher) (2009) - I started studying yoga in 2009 and have trained in many styles with many teachers including Peggy Berg, Shy Sayar, Kiki Lovelace, Britt Fohrman & Ana Forrest. In 2018, I decided to stop teaching yoga as an extractive practice & to focus on coaching instead.

  • Certified Birth Doula (2009) - In 2009, I became a birth doula through Natural Resources in San Francisco, and attended about 10 births until I realized being on-call is not for me. I got deep into the birth world teaching prenatal yoga & apprenticing with Britt Fohrman. I still draw upon this foundational skillset in my somatic work.

Additional education & un-learning:

  • Liberation Spring Grassroots De-colonial School with Anjali Nath - 2017-2018

  • Foundations in Somatic abolitionism with Resmaa Menekem, Dec 2021

  • Embodied Ancestral Inquiry with Marika Heinrichs, May - July 2022

  • Reparative Communal Consultations for white bodies- with Carlin Quinn, 2022

  • Post Capitalist Futures with Education for Racial Equality, Sept - Dec 2022

  • Traditional Irish Sean-nós singing with Mary McLaughlin 2017-present

“I've learned how to sit with challenging emotions, notice where they show up in my body, and release the anxious energy through moving my body. I know that these are skills I will carry with me for the rest of my life.”

The details:

  • Somatic coaching is an ongoing relationship, with the minimum length of work being six months but usually extending longer. I meet with clients twice a month, (usually every other week) as a baseline, with the option to meet more frequently if you desire.

  • Sessions are 75 minutes long and happen over zoom, twice per month. In addition to the sessions, I offer individualized practices & follow up emails after each session, plus an opportunity to check in on things during office hours on Fridays.

  • Somatic coaching is not trauma therapy nor a replacement for psychotherapy or clinical care. Somatic coaching can be an excellent complimentary support to clinical care if you are managing complex needs or CPTSD.

What is the investment?

One on one support is a significant financial, emotional and energetic investment on both our parts. Fees are sliding scale and range from $675-875/month depending on your financial capacity, and whether I have spots open at that tier.

*Even when the lower tier is still prohibitive, I will work with folks to offer extended payment plans and other solutions. Please reach out to hello@kelseymaeve.com

For those who are unfamiliar with scaled pricing models, here’s a short description for each level to help you figure out where you land on the scale developed with help from Worts and Cunning. Click through this article to read more about why I use this type of pricing model.

Next steps in working together:

The first step in working together is to set up a free half an hour consultation call. This call is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, for me to hear what you’re looking for support with, for you to ask questions and for both of us feel into if we are a good fit to work together.

“Now I choose what regenerates me and I mobilize energy where it needs to be with truth aligned actions and self-trust. I spend less time in freeze states, and I move in the direction of what feels really aligned for me, and with more self-validation.”

What Clients are Saying…

“Being new to somatic healing, Kelsey’s gentle strength really made me feel safe to open up and to unpack my fears, worries, and anxiety and find clarity.”

“Kelsey is very attuned and brings compassionate presence, inquiry and guidance, with her heart, soul, poetry and humour. I felt really seen, cared for & supported in this grounding and inspiring container.”

“I loved all the beautiful body-based, creative and symbolic approaches Kelsey used. I loved the way she brought in education about the nervous system which helped me understand the process on an even deeper level.”

As a master coach myself, I’m VERY picky on who I work with, and highly recommend Kelsey! I left our sessions feeling inspired, grounded, and soooooo good in my body.

I came to Kelsey at a trying time in my life, after experiencing much loss and unexpected family crises. As a busy mom, with a busy coaching business, there was so much on my plate and I wanted more support in holding everything.

My sessions with Kelsey helped me SLOW down, drop into the wisdom of my body, and give my nervous system exactly what it was craving.

Her warm and caring presence made me feel very held and I knew her capable hands could handle whatever I was bringing to the session.

If you’re looking to feel more centered, grounded, and expand your resilience in times of stress, reach out to Kelsey.”

- Amanda Testa

"I am more aware of how things effect me at the body level which helps me set aligned boundaries.

This coaching has forever changed my life. Kelsey has an ability to meet me where I am at and know which way to guide me. She knows when we have done enough and when we can push a little further. She is very attuned to me and my body and does an excellent job at knowing what is just right for me in each session.

I was struggling with fully letting go of the emotional trauma I had experienced 10 years ago & hoping to find closure and release. Nothing had actually helped me complete the trauma this person had caused. Coaching helped me uncover realizations about myself that never would have come up if I wasn't doing this work. I felt neutral and very at peace when engaging with what used to be a trigger and that was an amazing feeling.

I would recommend this 1:1 coaching program to everyone and anyone. This program will change your life for the better in ways you could have never expected.”

-Taylor Cope

"I have learned how to tap into the wisdom of my body in such a deep and profound way.

Kelsey has taught me and supported me in deepening my capacity to regulate my nervous system by attuning to the sensations in my body and working with these to tap into my intuition, explore challenges, resolve old emotional wounds, and heal my nervous system.

In my sessions with Kelsey I am met with a supportive, empathetic, and non-judgmental guide. I feel seen by Kelsey in my most natural essence which creates a beautiful container of safety from which to somatically explore what it is that needs tending to.

Through working with Kelsey, I now have body-based strategies that feel very intuitive and accessible to draw upon, especially when I feel emotionally triggered, so that I can bring my nervous system back to regulation.

As a coach myself, I am so grateful to have Kelsey’s support. Kelsey is a highly skilled and knowledgeable somatic coach who comes with my highest recommendation!”

-Adrienne Partridge, Ph.D.

Before these sessions, I was struggling with a life-long fear (more like terror) of flying on airplanes.

At the same time, my heart yearned for great adventures in far off lands. Leading up to travel days, I’d get vivid pictures of the worst case scenario & during the flights, my body would experience an overwhelming amount of panic. I had a desire to end this cycle and hopefully bring in some ease around travel.

I was worried to dive into this topic as I didn’t want to relive past experiences. However, I said yes because I had a lot of hope in these somatic sessions, especially knowing that my experience would be held in a trauma informed container.

I realized it was working after our first session. I was finally able to sink into the excitement leading up to the trip and ACTUALLY feel it.

I was shocked when after 3 sessions…

  • I was able to become excited and truly look forward to my next adventure

  • I felt deep ease on the day of travel driving to the airport, while going through security, and while waiting to board.

  • I actually felt excited to get ON the plane, versus having a ‘flight’ response and wanting to run away.

  • during turbulence, I used a few practices that had come up during sessions to help me feel more stable and regulated (and they worked)

  • even though I was very sleep deprived on my return flight, and I thought maybe I wouldn’t feel ‘as good’ as I had on my way there, I was wrong. It was an easeful return flight also despite being more stressed from other non-related reasons.

Somatic Sessions with Kelsey provided a safe and compassionate place for my heart and body to land just as I was, and I think they could bring great healing to all humans.

Trauma is not a life sentence. You get to grow, heal & evolve. If you want more ongoing support on your healing path, long term coaching might be a great fit.
